» GMAKF’s 13th Give-A-Gift: Alay SA Batang Pinoy (Gift Giving after Tough Times)

Despite the tragedy, brought by five (5) consecutive strong typhoons that hit the country on the last quarter of the year, the Christmas spirit lives on and the GMA Kapuso Foundation carries on in spreading hope and joy to Filipino children and their families.   Thus, for its 13th year, the GAG: Alay Sa Batang Pinoy project has chosen as its beneficiaries, children from typhoon-affected areas in Central Luzon particularly,  Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Mountain Province, Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Zambales, Rizal, and Laguna.      Around 31,000 children are expected to be served which includes children in armed conflict areas in Basilan and Sultan Kudarat, Mindanao and children of incarcerated women in Correctional Institute for Women in Mandaluyong and Davao del Norte.

Once again, the GMA Kapuso Foundation traversed mountains, crossed rivers and hiked rough roads for its yearly distribution of Christmas gifts to underprivileged children from poor provinces nationwide.   This time, the gift-giving is more meaningful, as it delivers hope for the children who recently experienced the wrath of typhoons Ondoy, Pepeng, Ramil and Santi. It may have been a truly difficult last quarter of the year for our country, but then, Christmas will always be a time for celebration.
