» GMA Kapuso Foundation Responded to Fire Incidents in Metro Manila on the Month of December

The GMA Kapuso Foundation responded to four (4) fire incidents in Metro Manila in December 2009.


On December 7, GMAKF team distributed relief goods, clothing, mats, blankets, detergent soap and water to 150 families who were left homeless as fire hit their houses in Santolan, Pasig City. The same 600 individuals were also served with hot soup.


Four days after the reported fire incident in Pasig, another fire razed several residential houses made of light materials in Brgy. 310, Oroquietta, Sta. Cruz, Manila. 2,500 families, equivalent to 10,000 individuals received packs of relief goods, clothing, mats, blankets, detergent soap, and water. A soup kitchen was also served, which catered children from the affected families.


Fire struck Brgy. Damayan Lagi in New Manila in Quezon City last December 16. GMAKF immediately responded to the needs of the evacuees by distributing packs of relief goods, clothing, blankets and plastic sleeping mats.


Morning of December 23, a huge fire razed houses in villages in Makati and Pasay Cities. The blaze which started at a residential area in Makati spread to structures in Malibay, Pasay City. A total of 517 families or 2,068 individuals were served with hot soup and received packs of relief goods, clothing, mats, blankets and biscuits.
