There are five projects under health and disaster assistance in the Kapuso Foundation. All these take into account the immediate need for resources and services by the marginalized afflicted and affected through times of ailment or crises, natural or man-made.
The Bisig Bayan Medical Assistance offers free medicines to those who, by force of circumstance, are unable to afford these on their own. This project is held three times a week, right at the very home of the GMA Kapuso Foundation. At times, when the situation demands it, indigent Kapuso’s in dire need are given medical examinations, prosthetics and even surgery through the Bisig Bayan, with the participation and help of well-meaning individuals, doctors and medical institutions.
The Kalusugan Karavan is a roaming medical mission which targets far-flung areas in the country not easily reached by basic health services. It offers free medical, basic surgical and dental services to qualified beneficiaries with the help of local and volunteer doctors.
Since its inception in 2001, this medical mission from the heart has been able to reach provinces as distant as Tabuk, Kalinga and Tawi-Tawi.
The Operation Bayanihan is a disaster relief project which provides immediate relief assistance to victims nationwide affected by calamities that are natural, as well as man-made. Through this project, the Kapuso Foundation strives to go to the people and to provide the necessary food, clothing, mats, and medicines within 24 hours of the occurrence of the accident or calamity in their locality.
